Cassia is the perfect student and daughter。 She gets good grades, helps at school when needed, applying everything she’s worked hard for to get into a good college。 She’s the oldest of 6 so she helps around the house too。 Her only escape is Friday nights at her best friend’s house。 But that’s also where he is。 The boy who broke her heart by pushing her away。 Now Holden’s back in her life but has it really changed? Can she uncover some of his secrets and see the good he hides or is she setting herself up for more heartbreak? I liked this book。 I had a lot more emotions for these characters than I thought I would。 But I also had to remember they are in high school。 Holden was so broken that he needed love to fix the gaping holes he created himself by pushing people away。 As shy as Cassia was, she spoke freely with Holden。 I loved Sydney’s character; the sister/best friend and hope to see more。 Definitely recommend。 。。。more

Friday Night Lies is C。W。 Farnsworth's newest standalone and follows Cassia and Holden。 Cassia is friends with Holden and has had a crush on him since her family moved across the street… Until it all fell apart in 8th grade。 Now in their senior year, they still ignore each other, but Cassia's best friend is none other than Holden's younger sister。 They spend every Friday night together at their place, and that's when her relationship with Holden will forever change。I discovered C。W。 Farnsworth and read several of her books this year, and I instantly liked her style, so I was excited to start Cassia and Holden's story。 I had a great time reading it because it had some of my favorite tropes。 I don't read as many high school romances as I used to, but this one was very realistic, and I was immediately immersed in Cassia and Holden's journey。I liked Cassia a lot! She is still pretty much affected by her fall off with Holden and doesn't understand why he stopped talking and hanging with her。 She has the biggest crush on him, so she gets a little shy and awkward when they are in the same room, but she also doesn't take shit from him! Cassia was honest with Holden, and when he acted like a jerk, she wasn't afraid to call him on it, which I loved! As for Holden, it took me several chapters to warm up to him, as I didn't really understand the reasons why he abandoned Cassia。 But throughout the story, you can see that he truly cares about her。 He has a hard time showing it and thinks she deserves better than him。 Holden also hides a lot behind his popularity and doesn't have much confidence in himself。 He is a very stubborn man, but I ended up liking him a lot。 I loved his nickname for Cassia and the fact that he wrote a journal about everything he wanted to tell over the years。Cassia and Holden's relationship development was so good and seemed very natural! They were very cute together with their secret nightly meetings。 They also cared so much about each other, and I loved how they supported and showed each other that they were worth it。 The friendship between Cassia and Holden's sister Sydney was also a nice addition to the story, and I loved how caring he was with her!Overall, I enjoyed Friday Night Lies a lot! It was a sweet and easy read。 Cassia and Holden were great characters, and their relationship was well-developed。 I can't wait to read more C。W。 Farnsworth's books!*ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review 。。。more

Every single C。W。 Farnsworth book gets better than the last one I've read。 I love the ones set in high school, between Kiss Now, Lie Later and this book, I'm obsessed。 Friday Night Lies had me hooked by the end of the first chapters。 I loved the ending to each chapter, the build up and the emotions Cassia pulled out of me。 Friday Night Lies felt like nostalgia for me, it took me back to the feelings of Senior Year of high school。 The characters felt so youthful and vibrant。 I adored Cassia and H Every single C。W。 Farnsworth book gets better than the last one I've read。 I love the ones set in high school, between Kiss Now, Lie Later and this book, I'm obsessed。 Friday Night Lies had me hooked by the end of the first chapters。 I loved the ending to each chapter, the build up and the emotions Cassia pulled out of me。 Friday Night Lies felt like nostalgia for me, it took me back to the feelings of Senior Year of high school。 The characters felt so youthful and vibrant。 I adored Cassia and Holden。 The title fits in so perfectly with Cassia and Holden with their Friday night encounters。 Some of my favorite books are where the characters only meet up at night because they can't sleep, and this one is easily one of my new favorites。 I wasn't ready for this book to end but I also wanted to finish it so quickly。 I've been reading all of C。W。 Farnsworth and her range of books is one of the many things I love of her books, but the high school ones are hands down my favorite! 。。。more

4。25-4。5 STARS The style of this story is understated and unique。 It’s a butterfly inducing best friends brother romance。 The main characters Cassia and Holden had also been best friends as younger kids and for reasons unknown to Cassia, Holden ghosted her and cut her out of his life…。Until as high school senior’s things heat up between them and things get exciting。I love young/first romance so much and her excitement of finally feeling seen by the boy from across the street is so satisfying。I l 4。25-4。5 STARS The style of this story is understated and unique。 It’s a butterfly inducing best friends brother romance。 The main characters Cassia and Holden had also been best friends as younger kids and for reasons unknown to Cassia, Holden ghosted her and cut her out of his life…。Until as high school senior’s things heat up between them and things get exciting。I love young/first romance so much and her excitement of finally feeling seen by the boy from across the street is so satisfying。I love their stolen moments together and the emotions and chemistry are fantastic。It’s not a fast paced or overly dramatic story despite it being an emotional story。I enjoyed the moderate teen angst and the excitement of firsts。 The mildly forbidden aspect is great and I loved the exhilarating feeling of them sneaking around to be together。I liked all of the characters。 The writing style is interesting, I understood the characters and was rooting for them, though I didn’t deeply connect to them。 I still love the characters and story。 I enjoyed it very much。For a romance about high school seniors it’s low drama with the perfect amount of angst for me。There is a shocking twist towards the end that’s very emotional and changes the characters lives。 It really surprised me, it was very emotional。I love the story and the characters journey。 I appreciate this author’s writing style, it’s something unique and I enjoy the quiet emotional experience her books give me。 。。。more

I've read almost all of C。W。 Farnsworth's books, so I was so excited that I was chosen to get the ARC! This book is a best friend's brother story, but I had a rough time really connecting with the MMC。 He was rough around the edges, which worked well and contributed to the story, but he didn't treat Cassia very well for most of the book and it took him a while to actually admit his feelings for her。 However, when they finally got together though, I really liked the combination。 It was hot, they I've read almost all of C。W。 Farnsworth's books, so I was so excited that I was chosen to get the ARC!
